Kimek (Kungarakan welcome)
The Run Your Outback Trail Festival is a celebration of running, community, and the spirit of the land. Come to run, connect, and celebrate with us, then camp under the stars and do it all again the next day, and even again the next!
We invite you to experience our country - the lands of the Kungarakan and Warai peoples - and hope to inspire a deeper connection to your own.

It is mandatory for all participants for all events to bring a collapsable cup, flask or drink bottle. There will be on course / finish line fluid available, although no drinking implements will be provided.
For the Friday night nocturnal race only, a head torch is also mandatory. For the Biggest Outback 56km event, a head or phone torch is strongly recommended for the start (can be discarded in the festival area after the first lap).
Recommended (not required and will not be checked) gear includes: trail shoes, personal nutrition, a snake bandage, emergency blanket and a whistle
-
Camping is $18 per camp site for 1x night.
Camp for the 2x nights and its $28 per site.
Got a ground tent? Use our rocks or bring weights as tent pegs will likely not work in our Outback.
For the full outback experience, this is a wild/free camp. No amenities. Nothing but magical views a short jog from an electric race site. Self-scavenge for wood for communal fires. Create epic memories, take nothing but photos, and leave nothing but many, many footprints.
-
There will be a water drop out on the course as indicated by the maps TBD.
The main, fully stocked aid station will be at the start/finish/festival area.
The festival aid station will be equipped with various fluids and tasty treats to keep you going and going - this will include electrolyte and protein bite samples from our mates at TRUE PROTEIN !
-
You can collect your race bib at any time the Bib Collection Station is open, although MUST collect it 30 minutes before the start of your race. And yes, you can collect your Sunday bib on Friday.
Bib Collection Station Hours:

Yes and Yes.
Race Briefings are mandatory and will be held at the festival/start/finish area 15 minutes before each event is scheduled to start.
Time cut-offs are quite generous, however, if it appears that, closer to the cut-off, this time will not be made, then you will likely not receive a finish time. Cut-off times are 2hrs on Friday evening, 4 or 5hrs on Saturday, and 9 or 10hrs on Sunday.
Both the briefings and time cut-offs are imperative for safety and also to get the most fun out of your adventure.
-
Yes. Each event will be timed using world-class timing technology. Results will be available LIVE (if you can find reception) and able to be tracked throughout the longer, lapped events on your device or ours - including a screen with constant rolling results at the start/finish/festival area.
There will be prizes for the top three male and female across the line in each event, as well as the female and male KANGA Champ and female and male Top DINGO.
KANGA and DINGO results will be progressively updated and available throughout the weekend.
-
This event is in the Northern Territory Outback. While it takes place in the Dry season, temperatures will be decent and wildlife live and play throughout the land. However, each course is within a relatively small boundary. At any one time, you will never be more than a few kms from the start/finish/festival area. Simply ensure you are in good health and fitness, then challenge yourself to take on any / multiple of the Trail Festival events!
-
Come to run, stay to play!
Music to jive (from speakers), pool to cool off (outback trough style), campfire to get transfixed (also tucker cooker) and games to avoid awkward conversations about the weather (creatively built and played).
And feel free to bring your (off-road) pushy to spin around a bit on the surrounding “roads” and even race course paths during non-race time.
The more mates you bring, the more festivally the festival becomes - bring them all!
